Adjust Bed
Knife
After changing or turning the knife, it will need to be re-adjusted to the bed
knife plate. If the gap is not set correctly, you will have excessive vibration
when chipping and the knife will seem to be dull.
Hopper removal is necessary to access the bed knife. See assembly instructions
on page 8 for more information.
To adjust the bed knife:
Loosen bed knife using a socket wrench enough so it will move but still
have a slight resistance.
You can now slide it up or down (in or out) to achieve the correct gap
setting.
Adjust bed knife to proper gap of .060” to .065”.
When adjusted, tighten 5/16”-18 x 1” bed knife bolts. (See torque chart.)
