15. In SUSI‘s update tab, click to initiate the update.
The bargraph at the bottom of the screen indicates the progress of
the update:
16. Should SUSI be unable to communicate with the NAVITWIN IV,
check the COM port settings and the hardware connection, then
repeat steps 13 to 15 above.
17. Upon completion of the update, a message should appear on the
screen, indicating that the software has been successfully updated.
18. The NAVITWIN IV will reboot
automatically with the new soft-
ware.
19. If an “EEPROM DATA INVALID”
message is shown, the new soft-
ware requires the setup mem-
ory to be restored to factory
settings. Press the
ACK
key to
continue the power-up
sequence.
20. Check that the new software version is shown on the startup screen.
21. If no flashboard was installed originally in the NAVITWIN IV, skip to
step 27 below.
Otherwise, reinsert the flashboard into its socket now, while leaving
the NAVITWIN IV powered up.
22. Call up the Main Menu and go to the Service Setup.
23. When prompted for the setup access code, enter “140”.
An option list is shown, providing access to a maintenance menu.
Note
Accessing the maintenance menu disables the serial data outputs.
Devices connected to the NAVITWIN IV will raise alarms due to the loss
of data occurring.
