5.5 FUSELAGE DISASSEMBLY

1.

Whilst supporting the Fuselage, use the Torx T40 tool provided in the Tool Kit to individually
loosen the two screws.

2.

Remove the two screws and set them aside. Store screws in a safe and accessible place.

3.

Whilst securely supporting the Mast, tap the upper face of the Fuselage, using only your
hands, in an area 2-3cm in front of the mast and 2-3cm behind the mast. It is very
important that you alternate the tapping between these two points to ensure that the
GeoLock disconnects as evenly as possible.

4.

Eventually, you will feel the Fuselage become free from the Mast. At this point, carefully
and securely set the Fuselage aside.

5.6 BOARD ADAPTOR DISASSEMBLY

1.

Whilst supporting the Board Adaptor, use the Torx T40 tool provided in the Tool Kit to
individually loosen the two screws.

2.

Remove the two screws and set them aside. Store screws in a safe and accessible place.

3.

Whilst securely supporting the Mast, tap the lower face of the Board Adaptor in the four
areas 2-3cm diagonally inwards from each of the four screw holes. It is very important that
you alternate the tapping diagonally between these four points to ensure that the Mast
Adaptor disconnects as evenly as possible.

Note: Use a soft rubber mallet only if absolutely essential. To avoid injury, pay special attention
to the Board Adaptor and Mast when the connection comes loose.

•

Wash your Sonar Foil System in fresh water thoroughly after each use.

•

Use recommended North Kiteboarding boards, foot straps and accessories.

•

Check your Sonar Foil System prior to each use. Ensure screws are tight and there are no
cracks, holes or scratches which could compromise your Sonar Foil System’s structure.

7. SERIAL NUMBER

6. FOIL & BOARD CARE

•

Do not overtighten screws as they are subject to extreme loads. Screw tightness should be
checked regularly.

•

We recommend storing your Sonar Foil System in a North Front Wing, Stabilizer and Mast
cover whilst it is not in use. This is to prevent unnecessary sun exposure, exposure to hot
temperatures (exceeding 45 degrees Celsius), scratches and other wear and tear.

MAINTENANCE:

•

To prevent oxidation of the screws and Sonar Foil System threads, we strongly recommend
that you periodically disassemble your Sonar Foil System and wash each component
in freshwater, before reassembling using re-greased screws (as per the assembly
instructions).

•

If you are not using your Sonar Foil System for a prolonged period of time, we recommend
you disassemble the complete foil system.

•

Disassemble the complete foil system regularly for inspection of all parts.

CARE DURING USE:

•

Prior to riding, ensure you have walked your foil board into deep enough water to avoid
grounding with the foil system when getting onto the board.

•

Avoid shallow water and/or rocky water when riding or returning to the beach.

•

Your Sonar Foil System is recommended for kite foiling or surfing only. Use of these
products with large SUP or windsurf boards is not recommended.

Each Sonar Foil System part has an individual serial number. These can be found in the
following locations; inside the Mast recess on the Board Adaptor, on the top of the Mast, inside
the GeoLock recess on the Fuselage, on the bottom connection surface of the Stabilizer and
on the top connection surface of the Front Wings.
