System configuration management
•
Multiple IP: Specifies an address range as defined by the entered IP
address and subnet mask. For example, IP address 192.168.1.6 and
subnet mask 255.255.255.0, defines all IP addresses from 192.168.1.1
to 192.168.1.254.
Administration
Changing the password
Management access to the Web on the access point is controlled through
a single username and password. You can also gain additional access
security by using control filters (For further information, see
"Filter control"
(page 55)
).
To protect access to the management interface, you need to configure an
Administrator username and password as soon as possible. If the username
and password are not configured, then anyone having access to the access
point can compromise the access point and network security.
Note: Pressing the Reset button on the back of the access point for
more than five seconds resets the username and password to the
factory defaults. For this reason, Nortel recommends that you protect
the access point from physical access by unauthorized persons.
ATTENTION
The Reset button should be used as a last resort for resetting the access point.
Nortel recommends that you use the reset options that are available through the
WebUI.
