RS-232 Port: Pins E, F, & G
These pins form a standard RS-232 serial port. Pin E carries a signal from the host computer to the unit
and Pin F carries a signal from the unit to the host computer. Pin G must be connected to the ground pin
on the host computer.
Note that it is possible to use an RS-232 interface to control a standard configuration equipped ATOM
through an RS-485 to RS-232 adaptor. Contact Norsat for details about the available adaptor kits.
Serial Port Interface (RS-485 & RS-232)
Port Settings
Communications to and from the serial interface is ASCII character based. Any standard “Terminal”
program with the port parameters shown in Table 2-8 may be used.
