Chapter Four BIOS Setup
AMI BIOS Refresh
BIOS functions as a bridge connecting hardware and operating system. Hardware and
software are upgrading all the time, so when your system goes wrong, for example, your
system cannot support the newest CPU, you need to upgrade BIOS to keep up with the latest
technology.
AFUDOS.EXE is the read and write program of FLASH IC which loads BIOS data on the
motherboard. It must be operated in DOS environment.
Please use a system boot disk to boot the system into a pure DOS environment, and then
use AFUDOS. EXE program to write the BIOS data you used to upgrade (such as XXXX. rom)
into FLASH IC.

Upgrading BIOS is only executed when it is necessary.

Please use the BIOS SETUP programs in the CD-ROM provided by us or download the
latest version on related websites.

Please do not power off or reboot the system during BIOS upgrading, otherwise, the
BIOS maybe be damaged or system may not be able to boot again.

After the BIOS upgrade is completed, restart the system, press < DEL > and enter BIOS
SETUP to optimize BIOS, save and exit according to F10.
5. To prevent any unexpected problems, please backup your BIOS in advance.
AMI BIOS Description
When booting, BIOS will self-diagnose the hardware on the motherboard, set the hardware
timing parameters and so on. Finally, the control of the system will be handed over to the
