Modem configuration
The Mediamaster is equipped with a built in telephone modem.
Via the modem so called “interactive services”, such as e.g. or-
dering movies, can be performed.
You will get more information concerning this service by your
service provider. Information will also be available in the “System
Information” menu, ref. to page 32.
When configurating the modem, the following parameters have
to be set.
Pulse or tone : Select the alternative valid for your system. If in
doubt, please contakt your phone operator.
Prefix : If the connection has to pass a switch board, enter the
figure that will open the line.
Information about the Modem
This equipment has been approved pursuant to Council Decision
98/482/EC [CTR 21] for pan-European single terminal connection
to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). However, due
to differences between the individual PSTNs provided in differ-
ent countries, the approval does not, of itself, give an uncondi-
tional assurance of successful operation on every PSTN termina-
tion point.
In the event of problems, you sholud contact your equipment
supplier in the first instance.
Receiver Upgrade
From this menu you can check if new software and new chan-
nels are available for downloading.
A search for new software and new channels is automatically
performed each night between 00 - 06. If new software/new
channels are available they will be downloaded and installed. If
the box is put into standby mode at that time, the card has to be
in the slot in order for the function to work.
If you are watching TV between 00 - 06 you might get a screen
message asking whether you want to start the search procedure
or not. If you decide not to start the procedure and go on watch-
ing TV instead, the search procedure will be performed the next
night.
