Connection of the Nokia FastMile 4G Receiver to an outside ground point is not
needed if it is grounded through its Ethernet cable to a PoE injector and the following
apply (Nokia advises that the PoE injector should be grounded and put as close as
possible to the place where the Ethernet cable enters the home):
•
the Nokia FastMile 4G Receiver is installed below roof level (keeps lighting risk
low)
•
the Ethernet cable of the Nokia FastMile 4G Receiver is less than 20 m (64 ft)
outside, subject to local regulations (keeps lighting risk low)
•
Nokia advises that the home electrical network that the PoE injector connects to
should be certified for grounding
if the Nokia FastMile 4G Receiver is installed above roof level, it requires a grounded
metal construction to hold the device. Nokia advises that a ground cable should be
used to ground the Nokia FastMile 4G Receiver to the metal construction.
Chapter 11 includes instructions for connecting the Nokia FastMile 4G Receiver to
an outside ground.
