1 Laser Description
The Koheras ADJUSTIK and ADJUSTIK HP are single frequency distributed feedback
(DFB) fiber lasers with passive vibration reduction. The systems are housed within a
rack mount control chassis which includes a front panel operational interface. Their
optical output is defined by an ultra-narrow line width in the Hertz range and
exceptionally low frequency and intensity noise. These characteristics make the
lasers suitable for laser interferometry, coherent communication, microwave
generation, spectroscopic, and scientific applications.

The ADJUSTIK and the ADJUSTIK HP are characterized by their output power as
either standard or high output power respectively. Operationally the two models
are identical and there are four variants of both lasers, each available with
additional options that can be specified.
All variants are designed with distributed feedback fiber laser technology and for
the ADJUSTIK

, center wavelengths can be specified from either 1535 to 1580
nanometers or 1030 to 1120 nanometers. (See
Table 1 on page 24
for more
details regarding wavelength specifications.) All laser variants support a wide
tuning range of approximately 1 nm from the specified center wavelength.
Chassis and front
panel style
The two laser models, ADJUSTIK and ADJUSTIK HP are identified by their chassis
color:

ADJUSTIK – dual-color front panel and black top, bottom and side panels
•
ADJUSTIK HP – single-color red chassis (Note that the livery for early ADJUSTIK
HP production chassis is identical to a standard ADJUSTIK.)
Terminology
This guide generally refers to both main laser variants (ADJUSTIK and ADJUSTIK HP)
as the laser. the laser. If necessary, where a distinction is required, each model or
variant will be clearly identified.
