The Micro-4 has a built-in microphone; a jack socket is
also provided on the rear panel for the connection of a low-
impedance microphone. This is useful for voice operation
where the Micro-4 is some distance from the user.
DO NOT CONNECT THE LOUDSPEAKER OUTPUT
FROM A POWER AMPLIFIER TO THE MICROPHONE
JACK SOCKET.
Always leave the Micro-4 for 5 minutes for the lamps to
cool before moving. (Lamps can fail if moved suddenly when
illuminated) When transporting the Micro-4, move the
handle in front of the lamps so that they are protected from
damage.
The Micro-4 must only be operated indoors. Do not
expose to moisture.
Do not stand the Micro-4 on top of a loudspeaker
cabinet. The vibrations may reduce lamp life.
Changing lamps
Disconnect from the mains supply. Unscrew the faulty
lamp, and replace with a new lamp type R80 60 Watt "silver
spot", with an E27 (Edison Screw) base. The colours
supplied with the Micro-4 are (from left to right) Blue,
Amber, Green, Red. It is not recommended that amber be
replaced by yellow, as it is noticeably brighter. Do not use
lamps rated at more than 60W.
Warning: Do not operate the Micro-4 with a lamp
removed, as this makes it possible to touch the live contacts
of the lamp holder.
Changing the Fuse.
Occasionally, when a lamp fails, the fuse may also fail. If
this happens, disconnect the power and remove the lid. The
fuse is located on the circuit board, between the lamp
holders for the red and green lamps. Replace the fuse by a
