DESCALING
It is advisable to descale the machine yearly, depending on the frequency of
use and the mineral content of the water.
Descale using commercial descaling agent recommended for espresso coffee
makers, or use water with vinegar as follows:
•
Fill the water tank with recommended JDE premix part# 55119528 or 5%
vinegar solution.
•
Without inserting any capsules, press and hold the espresso/ lungo/hot water
extraction button for 3 seconds at the same time. The button’s light is blinking
and the liquid is extracting automatically.
This indicates the machine is in the descaling mode.(The extracting stops
automatically while the liquid is up to 160 ml +/-15%)
•
After that, rinse the water tank and let or 2 tanks of fresh water flow through
the brew head until there is no more smell of the descaling agent.
Note: This operation may be dangerous if other substance are used instead of
JDE approved de-scaling materials recommended for household coffee makers.
