If the machine has not been used after being transported, check that all the blocks have been removed.
BATTERY CHECK/SETTING ON A NEW MACHINE
The machine needs two 12 V lead batteries, connected according to the diagram (44).
The machine can be supplied in one of the following configurations:
a)
Batteries already installed and ready to be used
b)
Without batteries
According to machine configuration, proceed as follows.
a) Batteries already installed and ready to be used
1.
Open the machine hood (41) and check that the batteries are connected to the dynamotor through the appropriate terminals.
2.
Close the hood (41).
3. Now the machine is ready to be used.
If the batteries are discharged, charge them with an external battery charger.
b) Without batteries

Buy appropriate batteries (see the Technical Data paragraph and the diagram (44)).
For battery choice and installation, apply to qualified battery Retailers.
2. Install the batteries.
3. Charge the batteries with an external battery charger.
BEFORE MACHINE START-UP
Checklist
1.
Have a full knowledge of the machine operating controls and their functions.
2.
If necessary, open the hood (7), unscrew the cap (61), and refuel; then close the hood (7).
CAUTION!
Do not fill the fuel tank to the top. Leave at least a space of 25 mm in the filler to allow the fuel to expand.
3.
Insert the ignition key (82) and start the machine (see the procedure in the following paragraph).
4.
Check the proper operation of the horn by pressing the switch (84), of the reverse gear buzzer by pressing the rear side of the
drive pedal (2) and the working light switch (81, optional).
5.
Check the parking brake (4 and 3). The brake must hold its (locked parked) setting firmly without easily being released (report
all defects immediately to Nilfisk Service Center).
6.
Check the service brake pedal (3) for proper operation.
WARNING!
If the pedal is “spongy” or fades under pressure without an efficient braking force, do not drive the machine
(report all defects immediately to Nilfisk Service Center).
7.
Make sure that there are no open doors/hoods and that the machine is in normal operating conditions.
8.
Make sure that the hopper (17) is properly closed.
Cleaning planning
1. Arrange long runs with a minimum of stopping or starting.
2. Allow a small amount of broom path overlap to ensure complete coverage.
3.
Avoid making sharp turns, bumping or scraping the side of the machine.
