Night Portrait Assist
(night portrait assist) mode is used for taking por-
trait shots at night, when it provides a natural balance
between the main subject and the background. Pic-
tures taken at slow shutter speeds are adjusted to im-
prove quality, slightly increasing processing time.

Functions for Night portrait assist mode are the
same as for Portrait mode (
29). When selecting Night Portrait (no fram-
ing guide), AF area is fixed at the center of the frame.

To prevent blurring, mount the camera on a tripod or rest it on a flat, sta-
ble surface.
•
Noise reduction turns on automatically at slow shutter speeds (
95). It
takes more time than usual to store the picture.
