Step 1 —Select Mode
(auto) mode is selected automatically the fi rst time the camera is turned
on. In this automatic, “point-and-shoot” mode, the majority of settings are
controlled by the camera in response to shooting conditions, producing opti-
mal results in most situations.

The lens will extend and the monitor or electronic
viewfi nder will display a welcome message. The
camera is ready to shoot when the message is
replaced by the shooting display and settings are
displayed in the control panel.
