10-901
READ THE cOMPLETE MANUAL BEFORE ATTEMPTING INSTALLATION AND AcTIVATING
THE SYSTEM.
1. BEScHRIjVING
The surface mounting code keyboard (10-901) can be used as part of the system Niko Access
Control Standard or be used as a stand-alone appliance. The code keyboard has a surface
mounting height of merely 12mm and is suitable both for indoor and outdoor applications. It
is continuously lit by means of a row of 5 blue LEDs. A 3-wire connection suffices. The code
keyboard is supplied by the bus power supply of the system (10-801, 10-802 or 10-802)
or by a 24V DC power supply. Max. 10 different user codes can be tought to the code
keyboard. To every user code, different functions can be connected. The code keyboard is
provided with one master code for the protection of the programming. You can open several
doors via one code keyboard or one door via several code keyboards.
2. INSTALLATION
Which cables are required?
U can use
standard signalling cable or UTP cable
.
If the code keyboard is part of a video installation, Niko recommends the following:
- JYSTY(-F2) min. 3 x 2 x 0,8mm
- TVVF (-F2) min. 3 x 2 x 0,8mm
- TPVF min. 3 x 2 x 0,6mm
- UTP 4 x 2 x 0,5mm (Limits the number of components to be connected. For specifica-
tions, see technical catalogue)
- SVV 0,6mm or 0,8mm (not suitable for videophony)
- available cable (e.g. in case of a renovation)..
Notes:
• When using a cable with 4 (twisted) pairs, you always have sufficient spare pairs in case
a pair is damaged and you can always add an external unit to the code keyboard.
• To close the code keyboard, you can use cables without twisted pairs.
• The wire diameter determines the maximum distance that can be covered. For more
details, see technical catalogue.
Installation
1 First remove the front plate (fig.1).
2 Insert the cable via the opening provided at the back of the code keyboard (fig.2).
3 Mount the code keyboard via the provided mounting holes (fig.2).
Note: the screwhead can max. be 3mm high!
4 Connect the wires of the cable to the terminals of the removable connector of the code
keyboard (fig.3a and 3b).
