One of the following functionalities can be assigned to the free function key (with service unit 10-870 or power supply 10-80x):
• switching the light contact on/off
• transmitting control function 8 to operate the DIN relay 10-831 (default)
• making an internal call
• activating or deactivating the ‘ring-and-come-in’ function, which triggers the door to open automatically when someone rings at the external
unit. The green indication LED lights up continuously if the function has been activated.
• activating or deactivating call diversion. This function ensures that another internal unit receives the call signal when someone rings at the door.
The key is also used to either activate or deactivate the assigned function after programming with the service unit (§ 6.3).
The camera key allows you to activate the camera of the external units when no one has rung at the door.
The record key allows you to record images. This function is only available with the optional recording module. Contact Niko to order this module.
The menu key allows you to:
• display the menu from the stand-by mode to adjust the ring volume and the ring tone (§ 6.1)
• change the image settings (contrast, brightness, colour) in the image mode
• confirm settings
You can use the navigation keys to change the settings in the menu.
4.2. Indication LED
Indication LED Meaning
This green indication LED flashes when a message was sent to the internal video unit (Niko Access Control configuration software,
under development)
This red indication LED comes on in the following cases:
• the ring-and-come-in function is activated
• the call diversion function is activated.
This yellow indication LED comes on when images are being recorded.
This red indication LED comes on when the ring tone is deactivated.
This green indication LED comes on in the following cases:
• incoming call
• during a call.
This green indication LED will flash when the line is busy (someone else is engaged in a call).
This blue indication LED comes on when the internal video unit is ready to be used
This blue indication LED will flash when there is an error message (§ 7)
5. MEANING OF THE SYMBOLS ON THE SCREEN
When the screen is activated (after a call or by pressing the camera key , the following symbols may appear on the screen.

The ring tone is deactivated. Press the key to re-activate the ring tone .
Call diversion is activated. This can be activated or deactivated with the free function key .
The ring-and-come-in function is activated. This can be activated or deactivated with the free function key .
