Please Observe
To prevent injury to yourself and others, and to prevent
damage to property, always follow the procedures below

Installing battery
・
Battery not included.
Requires one AA size alkaline battery.
・
Do not move probe during measurement. Only
measure single point at a time.
・
Continuous measurements will cause the probe to
heat up, so please remove from surface and allow
probe to cool in air for
about 2 seconds
between
each measurement.
・
Always remove any dirt from probe surface before
measuring,

How To Use
■
Basic Operation

Turn on Power
Press and Hold the ON/OFF

MENU button until
“
READY
”
appears on the LCD Display.
※
Auto-Off feature will turn off power after being idle for set
period. (Initial setting is 1 minute.)

Measure
Press Probe face against surface, when indicator sound is
heard, measurement is complete. Thickness reading is
displayed on the LCD display.
Iron and Steel (FE) : 1 beep
Non-ferrous (NFE) : 2 beeps
③
Turn off Power
Press and Hold the ON/OFF

MENU button until LCD display
turns off.

For an accurate measurement, 0-Point and 2-Point Calibration
must first be performed using a Reference Base.
Before taking measurement,
always
calibrate using uncoated
substrate of same material as substrate used in the
measurement.
When measuring uneven shapes and pipes, calibrate using
uncoated substrate of same material and shape as the surface
to be tested.

Calibration Note
Rotate Battery Cover to open, Insert AA size alkaline battery in
direction shown. Please check orientation before replacing
cover.

Calibrate using calibration film of slightly larger
thickness than the coating you will measure. If the
calibration film thickness is very different than the
measurement film, the measurement will not be
accurate.
