Master/Slave selection. When this terminal is tied to ground (XMP-3), the board is configured as Slave, i.e. the optic pulses coming
from optic fiber receivers are converted in electric pulses and sent to the P board via connector X8P.
When this terminal is left open or connected to te24V the board is configured as Master, i.e. the electric pulses coming from
X8-2 connector are both sent to X8P and converted to optical pulses to be sent to the fiber optic transmitters.

RESET (not used).

ABIL. When connected to te24V (XMP-1) enables the pulses sent to the P board via connector X8P.

Connector for GIFOA external 24V dc power supply.
Connector X8-1
Connector for the connection to the X8 of GPSIA (pin-to-pin connected with X8-2).
Connector X8-2
Connector for the connection to the X8 of GPSIA (pin-to-pin connected with X8-1).

Connector for the connection to the X8 of P board.

Connector for the connection to the X11 of P board. (internal power supply GIFOA)
NOTE:
In the Control Box the terminal XMP-4 must be left open or connected to te24V
configuring the board as Master.
NOTE:
In the SILCOPAC D power bridge the terminal XMP-4 must be connected to terminal XMP-3
configuring the board as Slave.

Jumpers

Pulses enable. On position 1-2 (default), the pulses are enabled from terminal XMP-6. On position 2-3, pulses are
enabled/disabled on the basis of the signals FRW and REV: if both these two signals are low, the pulses are
disabled.

GPTRA is a little card mounted on the GIFOA that is used for chop the pulses generated by SYSTEM2 when required. The chopping function is
performed only on the electrical pulses, i.e. the pulses that GIFOA send to the “P” board. The optical pulses are not affected by GPTRA.
In fact, the pulses generated by the SYSTEM2 board are single squared pulses with duration of about 1ms. This type of pulse can be sent to a
fiber optic channel without the necessity of a large bandwidth.
On the receiver side of the fiber optic the pulse must be transformed in a train of pulses (chopping) suitable to drive the pulse-transformers of
the BPRxx; this function is carried out by GPTRA.

GPTRA is mounted on both the GIFOA boards: on the transmitting GIFOA (TX) mounted inside the control box and on the receiving GIFOA
(RX) mounted inside the SILCOPAC D. In both cases the chopping action of GPTRA should be enabled to transform the solid pulse in a pulse
train.
