Receiving Nextel Direct Connect

Calls
When you receive an incoming Direct Connect call (see“Nextel Direct
Connect
” on page 71 for additional information), the phone will automatically
activate the applicable mode (Group or Private). Once the call is terminated, the
phone will return to Phone Ready and reactivate Keypad Lock.
Deactivating Keypad Lock
Light Sensor
When a key is pressed, the light sensor will activate the backlight only when
your phone is in poor lighting conditions. If illumination is needed, even when
the backlight is disabled, you can manually override the sensor by pressing and
holding
n
. This will activate the backlight. If the phone is in a charger, the
backlight will always be illuminated.
From the Phone Ready screen, press
n
then
*
(within 2 seconds). The message Keypad
Unlocked displays.
