BEFORE FIRST USE

1.  Wash the inside of the kettle body with mild liquid detergent.
2.  Rinse well and dry the inside and the outside of the kettle.  Place the base on a flat,

stable surface.

3.  Follow the operating directions and boil the water a few times and promptly discard.

OPERATING THE KETTLE

1.  Unwind the plug from the cord winding channel at the bottom of the base.
2.  Position the electric base that came with your kettle on a flat stable surface and

place the kettle on the base.

3.  Opening and Closing the kettle lid- To open the lid, press down on the button in the

top of the kettle handle; press on the raised circle and your lid will pop up and open
on its hinge. To close the lid, press down on the surface of the lid until you hear a
click that indicates it is locked closed.

FILLING YOUR KETTLE

1.   Never fill the kettle when it is on its base.
2.  Do not fill it above the maximum level or below the minimum level indicated on the

water indicator window. If you overfill the kettle you risk having hot, boiling water
spill out of the kettle as it heats.

3.  Do not use without water.
4.  Check that the lid is closed properly before use.
5.  The kettle must always be used with its own filter.
6.  Plug the kettle in an electric outlet.

FILLING YOUR KETTLE

1.  TO START THE KETTLE Press the ON/OFF tab positioned at the base of the kettle.
2.  Press down on the tab to switch to the ON (-) position. The tab will illuminate blue.
3.  As your water boils you will see the kettle change from BLACK to RED.
4.  When the water has boiled the ON/OFF tab will automatically switch to OFF (O)

and the blue color in the ON/OFF tab will disappear.

5.  You can stop the kettle manually, at any time by switching the ON/OFF tab up to the

OFF (O) position.  As the kettle cools it will return to its BLACK start color.

6.  Empty the kettle after each use to prevent mineral deposits from forming.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

CLEANING YOUR KETTLE

1.   Unplug your kettle.
2.  Let it cool down and clean it with a damp sponge.
3.  Never immerse the kettle, its base, the cord, or the electric plug in water.
4.  Use only soft not abrasive sponges or cloths and non-abrasive dishwashing liquid.

CLEANING THE FILTER

1.   The removable mesh filter controls the clarity of the water that pours into your

cup and extracts any unwanted residue that may be part of the tea brewing process.

2.  Clean the filter regularly by running water through it. With very hard water, the filter

can clog very quickly (10 to 15 uses). It is important to clean it regularly. If it is wet, put
it under running water. If dry, gently brush off any debris. To remove any scale
deposits that remain, follow the process for de-scaling.

3.  To remove the filter, lift the kettle off its base and allow to cool. Never remove the filter

when the appliance is full of hot water. Gently slide the filter by the top tab and it will
slide up and out.

DE-SCALING (KETTLE)

De-scale regularly-preferably at least once a month or more frequently if your water is very

hard.

3 methods to de-scale your kettle:

1.  Using vinegar:

-Fill the kettle with 17 oz. of vinegar.

-Let sit for 1 hour without heating.

2.  Using citric acid:

  -Boil 17 oz. of water.

-Add 1 oz. of citric acid and leave to stand for 15 min.

3.  Using a commercial de-scaler specifically for electric kettles:

  -Follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

-Empty your kettle and rinse 5 or 6 times to remove any residue.

*Never use a de-scaling method other than recommended.
