Getting Started With Smokeless Coal

(solid mineral fuel, NOT bituminous house coal)

Having learned where to find the controls, you are now ready to light
a coal fire in the stove, without filling the stove or neighbourhood with
smoke. To light the fire with coal you will need two pieces of newspaper,
a small bundle of kindling wood, and smokeless coal.

Remember that your stove needs your help to gently push start it in the
right direction until it warms. Do not expect it to be on auto pilot until it
reaches its operating temperature.

Ensure the ash pan is fitted and empty, then securely close the ash pit door.

Harmony 1 with 3kW boiler and Harmony 3 with 7.5kW boiler

Set the thermostat control to maximum, the air wash control to maximum and the open direct draught bypass
slide.
