There is no harm in leaving the cart plugged in at all times when not in use. If the lid is
left on, the compressor may not start up for days. The sensor will detect when it needs
to run & recharge.
Packaged popsicles and ice creams may remain in the cart when not in use as long as
cart is plugged in. Products that are scooped will need to be stored in a different cabinet
while the cart is charging.
In a standard household outlet, there are two receptacles. There should not be any
other major appliance sharing the same outlet. The second receptacle should not be
used
Do not plug in a cart when the temperature of the location is below 40 degrees F.
Your new C. Nelson mfg. low temperature cabinet represents the finest in engineering
design, quality of material and craftsmanship effort. It will give you many years of
trouble free service with a minimum of attention.
The easy-to-clean exterior surfaces should be wiped off regularly with a luke warm, mild
detergent solution. Do not use any solvent-type cleaners which could attack the plastic
and vinyl parts of the cabinet. Never clean the lids or cabinet with steam or extremely
hot water. DO NOT WASH LIDS IN A DISHWASHER.
From a sanitation standpoint, it is important that the interior of the cabinet also be
cleaned periodically. Most of our models are manual defrosting where a shutdown will
permit complete frost removal with a resultant increase in operating efficiency. To clean
the interior of the cabinet remove the lids and the product and unplug the unit, or turn
the temperature control to the off position. When the cabinet has warmed up, any
remaining frost accumulation may be scraped off the walls with a plastic or wood
scraper. Never use a sharp or pointed metal scraper since it could damage the finish or
possibly pierce the walls. The same type of lukewarm detergent solution used for the
exterior can be used on the interior. Wipe the interior of the cabinet dry, replace the lids
and plug in the cart. Wait several hours before reloading the cabinet with product.
No oiling of the equipment is required.
A lock bar is included with every cart and secured to the handle bar with a lanyard. It
can be stored in the umbrella when not in use. Not only is a lock bar included for
security reasons, you need to use it in transit. The lid will fly off if not secured with the
bar and a padlock at the end. (Padlock not included.) Install lock bar, open channel up,
by slipping the hooked end into the one tab, lay flat perpendicular to the lid hinge. Lay it
down flat and slip through the second tab and add a lock.
