NEC Solutions America Promotes Maureen Schmidt to Senior Director
of North American Sales, Visual Systems Division
CHICAGO, April 20, 2005
– NEC Solutions (America), Inc., Visual Systems Division
(VSD), a leader in commercial and residential large area projectors and plasma displays,
announces that Maureen Schmidt has been promoted to senior director of North American
sales. Previously, Maureen was the director of sales for the distribution channel.

As senior director of North American sales, Schmidt will lead NEC’s experienced sales team
responsible for Pro AV, PC Distribution, Retail and OEM channels.
Schmidt joined NEC in May, 2003 as director of sales, Distribution Channel, responsible for
revenue for the distribution, mass reseller and retail channel in the United States. Schmidt
also helped expand NEC VSD by adding two new channels of distribution -- office retail and
home entertainment -- while consistently delivering NEC’s goal of 20% market share in the
commercial plasma market.
Schmidt’s career includes extensive experience in designing, planning and executing channel
strategies. Before joining NEC, she served as director of channel sales at InFocus
Corporation, where she was responsible for channel sales and revenue for seven years. Prior
to InFocus, Schmidt worked in the sales and marketing departments for more than a decade at
Mitsubishi Electronics America.
Schmidt resides in Littleton, Colorado with her family.
