CHAPTER  2   HARDWARE  INSTALLATION

2.1

System Requirements

Host PC

A PC supporting Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0, Windows Me, Windows 2000, or

Windows XP is required to run the PG-FP4 in the graphical user interface (GUI) mode.

About 8 MB of free hard disk space is required to install the GUI software.

Host machine

Any of the following can be used:

32 MB or more

Host interface

Serial interface (RS-232C) capable of handling communication at 9,600 (minimum) baud up to

A parallel port may be used in addition to the serial interface to enable fast data download to

the PG-FP4.

Alternatively, a USB port (Rev 1.1) is available.

File formats

Program files can be used in Motorola S file format or Intel HEX file format.
