2.2.
Logon to the server
Depending on your installed OS you will either be presented a graphical interface to login or a
CLI login prompt. In any case initial login credentials are:
Username : root
Password : hana
2.3.
Start the SAP HANA Instance
1.
Change user to the <sid>adm and start HANA:
su - <sid>adm
HDB start
2.
Check the SAP HANA Instance status, all should be “GREEN”.
Please note that HANA startup takes some time.
sapcontrol –nr <instance no> -function GetProcessList

Stop the Server
3.1.
Stop the SAP HANA Instance
1.
Change user to the <sid>adm and stop HANA:
su - <sid>adm
HDB stop
2.
Check the SAP HANA Instance status, it must be “GRAY, Stopped”.
Please note that HANA shutdown takes some time.
sapcontrol –nr <instance no> -function GetProcessList
3.2.
Power off the server
Power off the server. Use the following command on terminal:
shutdown –h now
