About data on the Physical Device
Be sure to take appropriate measures not to leak important data (e.g.,
customers' information or companies' management information) on the
removed Physical Device to any third parties.
Data seems to be erased when you empty "Recycle Bin" of Windows or
execute the "format" command of the operating system. However, the
actual data remains written on the Physical Device. Data not erased
completely may be restored by special software and used for
unexpected purposes.
It is strongly recommended that the software or service (both available at
stores) for data erasure should be used in order to avoid the trouble
explained above. For details on data erasure, ask your sales
representative.
NEC assumes no liability for data leakage if the product is transferred to
third party without erasing the data.

N8103-198/203/215 is equipped with a backup battery. N8103-198/203 is about 3 years the life of the
battery, and N8103-215 is about 5 years. while it varies depending on the use environment and
operating conditions.
Replace the BBU with a new one after about three or five years from the installation of the BBU (the
installation time can be known by the Setup Date label put on the BBU). Contact your service
representative for the replacement.

The device failure due to shock or thermal changes, as well as operator's error, may cause loss of
data. To avoid loss of data, NEC recommends that you should make a back-up copy of your
valuable data on a regular basis.

To transport the RAID Controller, remove the RAID Controller from the server and put it in the
shipping carton along with accessories.

The spare parts of your RAID Controller are available within five years from EOL.
