3-10 Setting Up Your Server
TURNING ON THE SERVER
Turn on the server and follow the on-screen instructions for setup.
1.
Power on the display unit and other external devices.
NOTE:
If the power cord is connected to the power control unit such
as the UPS, turn on the power control unit.
2.
Open the front door and press the POWER switch.
The POWER/SLEEP lamp on the front of the server comes on.
NOTES:
Connect the power cord and wait at least 10 seconds before pressing
the POWER switch. The Status lamp lights thin amber immediately
after the power cord is connected or AC power is supplied to the
server. Wait until the lamp goes off, then press the POWER switch.
Do not power off the server before some characters appear on the
screen.
