Product Restrictions
The following restriction was in effect at the time of this release:
DOS Partitions - MS-DOS allows installation of multiple primary DOS
partitions. However, SCO Open Systems Software allows only one primary
DOS partition and one extended DOS partition on the boot drive. If you install
more than one primary and one extended DOS partition, SCO Open Systems
Software will be unable to access any DOS partition.

Symptom Workaround
You have greater than 16 MB of RAM and you get an
out of available memory error message when running
SBACKUP.
Add the following line to your
C:\NWSERVER\startup.ncf file:
set reserved buffers below 16 MEG = 200
You get the following error message on your console
while the server is starting:
autoregister memory above 16MB failed
Make sure the following commands are not in your
c:\config.sys file:
device=c:\dos\setver.exe
device=c:\dos\himem.sys
dos=high
Make sure the following command is not in your
c:\autoexec.bat file:
c:\dos\smartdrv.exe
When performing a multi-tape backup, if SBACKUP
does not recognize the second tape... Use a blank second tape or a tape that does not have
any NetWare SBACKUP information on it.
Symbios Disk Driver does not load. Make sure the following command is NOT in your
autoexec.bat file:
c:\dos\mscdex ...
When accessing a CD-ROM volume, you get
messages stating there was an error writing to the
FAT table for the CD-ROM volume... These messages can safely be ignored. However,
when these messages occur, the workstation stops
processing batch file commands until the messages
are acknowledged by the user. To stop messages
from reaching the workstation, type "castoff all" at the
workstation.
