Internal Drive
Internal Drive: Priority/Order of Installation
At the initial server delivery, internal drives are installed with the following priority/order. If the ordered
configuration is not in the scope of the rule, the drive will be delivered as not configured.

Note: The 2

RAID Controller and the drives under the controller are not installed (configured) at the
server delivery.
Conditions to Mix Internal Drives
Mixing SSDs with different capacity or mixing HDDs with the same rotation speed is supported in the
BTO configuration.
Mixing HDDs with different rotation speed and mixing HDD and SSD is NOT supported in the BTO
configuration.
Cannot mix the different drives within a RAID group (pack)
When defining hot spare disk under mixed drive configuration, need to set Dedicated Hot Spare per
RAID group. Global Hot Spare is not available.

With different internal drives
For 1x RAID Controller, 2 kinds of HDDs or HDD/SSD can be mixed.
When SSD/HDD mixed, SSDs are installed first according to the above priority/order, then HDDs
are installed in the remaining drive bays.
When SSDs with different capacity are mixed, larger SSDs are installed first.
When HDDs with different rotation speed, higher speed HDDs are installed first. If the speed is
the same, smaller capacity HDDs are installed first.
