Installing The Software & Maps
Your iCN has SmartST software
pre-installed for convenience.
Before you start using the iCN,
the maps must be installed.
These are found on the CD-
ROMs supplied with your iCN.
Complete the following
tasks.
These steps must be
completed in sequence to
ensure a successful installation.
1. Install the iCN Desktop
application on your PC.
Select a language.
2. Connect the iCN to your
PC using the USB cable
supplied.
3. Download the maps.
4. Remove the USB cable.

Installing Maps and Software in
the User Manual.
1. Install the iCN Desktop
Windows XP users, ensure
Service Pack 1 is installed
before installing the iCN
Desktop.
Insert the CD-ROM in your
PC. Installation will start.
Follow the screen prompts
to install the iCN Desktop
application.
Once installation is complete,
the iCN Desktop will start.
2. Connect the iCN to a PC
Use the AC power adapter
(included) to connect the iCN
to the AC power supply.
Connect the iCN to a PC
USB port using the USB
cable supplied.
N.B. Only after the ICN
Desktop has been installed.
Turn the iCN on by holding
down the
button for
1 second, this screen will
display on the iCN.
Note: For Windows® XP®.
If the screen below appears,
click
Continue Anyway.
3. Install the maps
This process requires an
internet connection.
The maps supplied have
been pre-authenticated, and
are ready to download on
your iCN.
Ensure you have installed
the iCN Desktop before you
connect the USB cable to the
iCN and before you download
the maps.
Maps are available in regions
of varying sizes. The maps
can be stored on the internal
memory of the iCN and on
memory cards.
The iCN has 64 Mbytes
internal memory. Additional
maps can be stored on SD or
MMC cards. You can purchase
64 or 128 Mbyte memory
cards. The maximum size for
the iCN is 256 Mbytes.
Use the iCN Desktop
application to download
maps on the iCN or additional
memory cards.
Click
Install Maps
from
the Main Menu
.
Click and drag the map area
you require across to the
right-hand window. Or, click
on the required map area. It
will display lower left of the
window. Choose the
Add to
button to download the map.
Note: Maps can be stored on a
memory card using a memory
card writer.The maps supplied
on the CD-ROMs depend
upon the country of purchase.
4. Remove the USB cable
The USB cable must be
disconnected from the iCN for
the installation to be complete.
