3-7 Installing the Gyro

Location
Mount the gyro as close as possible to the centre of movement of the boat, to minimize how much
the gyro moves when the boat rocks and pitches.
Mount the gyro on a panel which does not vibrate.
The unit is completely waterproof but should not be immersed. Follow the location guide (see
section 3-2-1).
The Ideal location is at the centre of movement (for planing hulls, the centre of movement is usually
close to the stern).
