The dip card reader is a manually operated device mounted directly to the ATM fascia.       

      The consumer inserts an ATM card in the card entry slot and then removes the card to       
      begin the transaction. The dip card reader can read magnetic stripe cards and memory   
      chip cards. The dip card reader cannot retract, capture, or retain cards.
