Attach the duct to the exhaust outlet of the fan
Secure with duct tape and make sure there
is no air leak (ill. 1).
Make sure that there are no sharp bends in the duct line
(ill. 2).
For 90-degree angles, use smooth curves or break into
two smaller angles or curves (ill. 3).
NOTE
for safety and efficiency of the ventilation system,
avoid sharp angles and loose support.

Electrical installation
The
neutral
wire from the power supply must be connected
to the
white
wires of fan and light.
The
hot
wire from the switch must be connected to both
black
wires of fan and light.
The
green
wire from the power supply is to be connected
to both
green
wires.
Installation II (in existing construction)
Installing the fan body in an existing building requires an accessible
area (attic or crawl or space) above the planned installation location
and existing duct and wiring.
To install the fan body, remove the old unit, check the existing
ductwork and electrical wiring and follow the procedures described
in Installation I.
If you wish to make a new opening in the existing ceiling:
– Find the best location for the ventilation purpose.
– Make sure the chosen place has easy access to an exterior
air outlet (wall cap or roof jack).
– Ensure you will not have to use sharp angles or very long duct.
– Make sure the ductwork in the chosen place will not interfere
with any other existing ductwork in the building.
– Make sure there is no electrical wiring or pipes behind
the chosen place.
– After finding the optimal place, proceed with the opening.
– Ensure the support beams are strong enough to hold the unit.
– Make the ductwork.
– Proceed with the electrical wiring.
– Follow the instructions provided for Installation I.
Maintenance
Replacement of the light bulbs
– Disconnect the power.
– Remove the grille from the unit.
– Disconnect the light unit from connector.
– Remove the bulb with care. Be careful, the bulb’s glass is fragile,
don’t pull too hard. Hold the base and move the lamp back
and forth in order to release it.
– Put the new light bulb in place (it is a good thing to verify that
the new light bulb is good before installing it in the unit).
– Put the cover back in place.
Cleaning the fan
It is advisable to clean the unit periodically. Dust, molds, grease and
other dirt particles can affect the conductivity of the air in the unit.
The procedure is as follows:
– Remove the grille.
– Wash the grille with lukewarm water and use mild detergent
(e.g. liquid soap). Avoid harsh detergent or boiling water.
– Dry the grille with a kitchen towel or a cloth.
– Clean the inside of the unit with a vacuum cleaner (motor should
not be in contact with any water or chemicals and liquids).
– Dry the body with paper towel.
– Put the grille back in place
Limited warranty
This is a quality product. It was made and selected with care and Canac
offers a limited one-year warranty against any manufacturing defects
as long as it is used according to its intended use. Canac will
exchange any product that would show any such
manufacturing defects.

Fixez le conduit
Attachez bien le conduit à l’aide de ruban adhésif entoilé
(
duct tape
) et assurez-vous qu’il n’y a pas de fuite d’air (ill. 1).
Assurez-vous qu’il n’y a pas d’angles aigus dans le réseau
de conduits (ill. 2).
Pour les angles de 90 degrés, faites des courbes légères
ou en deux angles plus petits (ill. 3).
NOTE
Pour les besoins de sécurité et d’efficacité
du système de ventilation, évitez les angles
aigus ou un appui instable.

Installation électrique
Le fil
neutre
de la boîte électrique doit être branché
aux fils
blancs
du ventilateur et de la lumière.
Le fil du
courant
du commutateur doit être branché
aux fils
noirs
du ventilateur et de la lumière.
Le fil
vert
de la boîte électrique doit être branché aux fils
verts.
Installation II (construction existante)
Pour installer un ventilateur dans un bâtiment déjà construit,
vous devez avoir accès, par le grenier ou le faux plafond,
à l’emplacement se trouvant au-dessus de l’endroit prévu
pour l’installation et aux conduits et au câblage déjà installés.
Pour installer le ventilateur, enlevez l’ancien appareil, vérifiez
le réseau de gaines et les branchements électriques et suivez
les étapes de l’installation I.
Si vous désirez faire une nouvelle ouverture dans un plafond existant
:
–
trouvez le meilleur endroit pour les besoins de ventilation ;
–
assurez-vous que l’endroit que vous aurez choisi offre un accès
facile à une sortie extérieure (au mur ou sur le toit) ;
–
assurez-vous que cet endroit ne vous force pas à créer des angles
aigus ou à faire un long conduit ;
–
assurez-vous que le conduit que vous installerez n’interférera pas
avec un conduit existant ;
–
confirmez qu’il n’y a pas de tuyaux ou de fils électriques derrière
l’emplacement choisi ;
–
après avoir trouvé l’endroit idéal, percez le trou ;
–
assurez-vous que les solives sont assez fortes pour y fixer l’appa-
reil ;
–
faites le conduit ;
–
faites l’électricité ;
–
suivez les instructions données au chapitre installation I.
Entretien
Remplacer les ampoules
–
Débranchez l’alimentation.
–
Retirez la grille.
–
Débranchez le dispositif de lumière.
–
Retirez l’ampoule avec soin. Soyez vigilant, le verre dont est
fabriqué l’ampoule est fragile, ne tirez pas trop fort. Tenez la base
et libérez l’ampoule en faisant un mouvement de va-et-vient.
–
Insérez la nouvelle ampoule (nous vous recommandons
de vous assurer que l’ampoule neuve fonctionne avant de l’insérer
dans le dispositif). Assurez-vous qu’elle est bien en place.
–
Remettez la grille en place.
Nettoyage du ventilateur
Le ventilateur devrait être nettoyé périodiquement. La poussière,
la moisissure, la graisse et autres saletés peuvent affecter l’efficacité
de l’appareil.
Suivez ces étapes :
–
Retirez la grille.
–
Lavez la grille à l’eau tiède savonneuse (utilisez un détergent doux),
évitez les détergents corrosifs et l’eau bouillante.
–
Essuyez la grille avec un linge doux.
–
Nettoyez l’intérieur du ventilateur à l’aide d’un aspirateur
(le moteur ne devrait pas être mis en contact avec de l’eau,
des produits chimiques ou des liquides).
–
Essuyez le boîtier avec un essuie-tout.
–
Remettez la grille en place.
Garantie limitée
Ceci est un produit de qualité. Il a été conçu et sélectionné avec soin
et Canac offre une garantie limitée d’un an contre tout défaut de fabrication
à la condition qu’il soit utilisé pour l’usage pour lequel il est destiné.
Canac échangera sans frais tout produit qui présenterait
de tels défauts de fabrication.

Maintenance
CAUTION: MAKE SURE POWER IS SWITCHED OFF AT SERVICE PANEL BEFORE SERVICING THE UNIT.
1. Cleaning the Grill: Remove grill and use a mild detergent, such as dishwashing liquid, and dry with a soft cloth. NEVER USE ANY ABRASIVE
PADS OR SCOURING POWDERS. Completely dry grill before reinstalling. Refer to instructions in Section 6 Finishing the Installation, to reinstall
grill.
2. Cleaning the Fan Assembly: Unplug the motor cord from receptacle. Wipe all parts with a dry cloth or gently vacuum the fan. NEVER IMMERSE
ELECTRICAL PARTS IN WATER. Plug the motor cord back in and restore power.
Troubleshooting Guide
PROBLEM

1. Fan does not operate when the switch
is on.
1a A fuse may be blown or a circuit tripped.
1a Replace fuse or reset circuit breaker.
1b Connector plug from motor is not
plugged in.
1b Turn off power to unit. Remove Grill and
plug motor into receptacle in housing.
Restore power to unit.
1c Wiring is not connected properly.
1c Turn off power to unit. Check that all wires
are connected.

2. Fan is operating, but air moves slower
than normal.
2. Obstruction in the exhaust ducting.
2. Check for any obstructions in the duct-
ing. The most common are bird nests in
the roof cap or wall cap where the fan
exhausts to the outside.
3. Fan is operating louder than normal.
3a Motor is loose.
3a Turn off power to unit. Remove grill and
check that all screws are fully tightened.
Restore power to unit.
3b Fan blade is hitting housing of unit.
3b Call your dealer for service.
Limited warranty
WHAT THIS WARRANTY COVERS:
This product is warranted against defects in workmanship and/or materials.
HOW LONG THIS WARRANTY LASTS:
This warranty extends only to the original purchaser of the product and lasts for one (1) year from the date of original purchase or until the original
purchaser of the product sells or transfers the product, whichever first occurs.
WHAT NAUTIKA WILL DO:
During the warranty period, Nautika will, at its sole option, repair or replace any part or parts that prove to be defective or replace the whole
product with the same or comparable model.

This warranty does not apply if the product was damaged or failed because of accident, improper handling or operation, shipping damage, abuse,
misuse, unauthorized repairs made or attempted. Nautika will pay return shipping charges to Nautika warehouse in warranty replacement cases.
Some states and provinces do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or
consequential damages, so these exclusions or limitations may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have
other rights which vary from state to state and province to province. Proof of purchase is required before a warranty claim will be accepted.
