R tuning procedure - use the R TUNING
LEDs and the REFLECTED PWR
indication of test meter M1 as a guide.
10
In Local Control press R TUNING
INCREASE or DECREASE switch
to minimise REFLECTED PWR on
test meter.
Variable matching transformer shown
in optimum (centered) position when R
TUNING NORMAL LED turns ON.
Moving coil goes in to INCREASE
the ATU’s input resistance.
11
The input and output taps on transformer T1 controls the final “tuned” position of the variable matching
transformer. If necessary change the input (green) and output (red) tap positions to center its tuned position
between the MAX and MIN limits. Choose a higher resistance position to move toward the MIN limit.
12
Ensure that the ATU is left in the REMOTE Control position (LOCAL/REMOTE LED OFF) on completion of this
adjustment process.
9
The termination points for
the T1 INPUT (green) and
T1 OUTPUT (red) wires can
be on either of T1’s terminal
blocks.
