Modifying and Installing
I/O Expansion Boards
This appendix explains how to modify and install an I/O board in the
VXIpc-872 and VXIpc-873 with a nonremovable flash drive. This
information does not apply to the VXIpc-871 or VXIpc-873 with a
removable flash drive.
Note
Throughout this chapter,
VXIpc-873
refers only to VXIpc-873 controllers with
nonremovable flash drives.
Height of Plug-In Boards
In general, the VXIpc-872 and VXIpc-873 can accommodate any
standard-size PCI card and any XT-height ISA card. The height of an I/O
card is measured from the bottom of the bus connector to the top of the
board, as shown in Figure D-1.

Both XT-height ISA cards and PCI cards are 4.2 in. high. The VXIpc-872
and VXIpc-873 do not support AT-height ISA cards, which are 4.8 in. high.
