Uninstalling the Serial 
Hardware and Software

This appendix explains how to uninstall your serial hardware and NI Serial 
software.

Removing the Hardware Information

Before physically removing the serial hardware from the computer, you 
must remove the hardware information from the Windows 95 Device 
Manager. Follow these steps to uninstall the hardware. 

1.

Double-click the System icon under Start»Settings»Control Panel. 
The System Properties dialog box appears.

2.

Select the Device Manager tab.

3.

Click the View devices by type button.

4.

Double-click on the Ports (COM & LPT) icon.
