Connecting the cRIO-9024 to a Network
Connect Ethernet port 1 on the cRIO-9024 to an Ethernet network using a standard Category 5
(CAT-5) or better Ethernet cable. The host computer communicates with the controller over a
standard Ethernet connection. If neither the host computer nor the controller is connected to a
network, you can connect the two directly.
Caution
To prevent data loss and maintain the integrity of your Ethernet
installation, do not use a cable longer than 100 m. If you are using 100 Mbps
Ethernet, NI recommends using a CAT-5 or better shielded twisted-pair Ethernet
cable.
