This chapter contains instructions to help you install and configure your
NI-488.2M software.
NI-488.2M Software Components
The NI-488.2M software package includes the following files:
•
NI-488.2M driver (
ib
).
•
Include file for user programs (
ugpib.h
).
•
C language interface libraries (
libgpib.a
and
libgpib.so
).
•
Source of the C language interface libraries (
cib.c
and
cib.h
).
•
Interactive software configuration utility (
ibconf
).
•
Interactive GPIB control program (
ibic
).
•
Software diagnostic utilities (
ibtsta
and
ibtstb
).
Install the Software
After you install the hardware, follow these steps to install the
NI-488.2M software:
1.
Log on as super-user (root).
2.
Insert the NI-488.2M distribution diskette.
3.
Add the NI-488.2M software to the operating system by entering one
of the following commands.
