Resetting the FP-1600
It is possible to configure the Ethernet settings of the FP-1600 so that the
device cannot communicate with the network. When you configure the
device, it attempts to confirm that the new settings are valid. However, if
the configuration process is interrupted or the FP-1600 is moved to a new
network with different settings, the device might not be able to
communicate with the network. If this occurs, you can manually reset the
unit to its factory settings.
When you reset the unit, the following actions occur:
•
The IP address, subnet mask, DNS server IP, gateway IP, and time
server IP are set to
0.0.0.0
.
•
The normal I/O services are suspended until the FP-1600 is
reconfigured.
•
The device will appear as
Unconfigured
in FieldPoint Explorer’s
Network Devices list.
•
The device’s watchdog settings, powerup values, and channel
configurations will be lost.
Follow these instructions to reset the unit:
1.
Power down the FP-1600 and remove it from the bank.
2.
Locate the slot on the bottom of the FP-1600 just above the label.
Inside the slot, find the red reset switch, shown in Figure A-1.
