Table 19. Approximate Power Requirement (Continued)
Power
Model
Values and Calculations
P
DIO
All sbRIO-96xx
Total DIO current × 3.3 V/0.8
P
5V
All sbRIO-96xx
Total 5 V current × 5 V/0.9
1.5 A, maximum
P
3.3V
All sbRIO-96xx
Total 3.3 V current × 3.3 V/0.8
0.33 A, maximum
Note
Actual P
int
will measure between typical and maximum P
int
.
Note
Approximate typical P
int
assumes a Real-Time application connected over
Ethernet that loads an FPGA application that blinks the User FPGA1 LED.
Note
Approximate maximum P
int
approximates the maximum power requirements
for an NI sbRIO system. Assumptions include 85% LUT, Flip Flop, DSP, BRAM
utilization of the FPGA running at 80 MHz, and 100% processor utilization.
Power-On Self Test
The NI sbRIO-96xx runs a power-on self test (POST) when you apply power to the device.
The Power and Status LEDs turn on when the POST begins. The Status LED turns off when
the POST completes.
Note
Refer to the
section to troubleshoot Status LED
behavior.
Installing Software on the Host Computer
Before using the sbRIO-96xx, install the following application software and device drivers on
the host computer.
