If the latches do not engage, ensure that the expansion bridge is inserted in the orientation
shown in Figure 2. The expansion bridge fully inserts only with the correct edge up.

Note

The NI 2806 expansion bridge should not be used above the operational shock

limit. Refer to the NI SwitchBlock carrier or card specifications for these limits.
Remove or secure the NI 2806 prior to shipping and prior to use in a high-shock
environment.

Note

To prevent unintentional shorts of source channels between hardwire analog

bus paths, you cannot use any NI SwitchBlock carrier connected by the NI 2806
expansion bridge until all connected carriers have been loaded by the driver. Failure
to load the driver on any carrier connected by the expansion bridge will disable all
other carriers connected to the same bus.

Removing the NI 2806 Expansion Bridge

Complete the following steps to remove the NI 2806 expansion bridge:

1.

Power off the chassis.

2.

Squeeze the expansion bridge latches and pull gently on the expansion bridge.

3.

Remove the carriers that were connected to the expansion bridge.

4.

Reinstall the expansion bridge connector covers with the provided 2-56 × 3/16 inch long,
pan head screws.
