1 Safety information
1.1 Proper use
The Bixo system is a motor-driven supply and exhaust air element designed for the instal-
lation in the circular exhaust air duct of an extractor hood with a diameter of DN 150 mm.
The device is exclusively intended for an application in private households.
1.2 Improper use
Each application for tasks other than those described above, as well as operation with
other technical data and intended use, is considered improper use. The operator alone
bears the risk of this.
Non-observance of EU directives, occupational health and safety, safety and disposal
regulations as well as improper or safety-related working methods in the execution of all
measures described in these operating instructions shall also be regarded as improper
use.
Improper use of the machine/system means among other things
•
improper installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of the system
•
Operation with defective, improper and non-functional safety and protective devices,
•
Non-compliance with the notes and instructions in the operating instructions regar-
ding transport, storage, assembly, unauthorised structural changes,
•
improperly carried out repair works:
•
The manufacturer cannot accept any liability for catastrophes caused by the action
of foreign bodies or force majeure.
1.3 Qualified staff
The Bixo system works independently, so that no additional qualifications are required for
use in the company. The user‘s qualifications depend on the qualifications required for the
respective extractor hood.
In any case, have electrical connections made by an authorised specialist.
All relevant regulations of the power supply companies and the building regulations of the
federal states (DIN VDE 0100-724) must be observed.
1.4 Safety notes
Hazard caused by non-observance of the operating and assembly instructions. Please
read this manual carefully and keep it for future reference.
Any assembly work on the ventilation unit may only be carried out with the mains voltage
disconnected.
No assembly in potentially explosive environments.
In case of exhaust air operation and simultaneous use of a room air-dependent combusti-
on point, please consult your responsible chimney sweep.
The device may be damaged by sharp-edged objects.

3 Service and maintenance
The exhaust air wall box is maintenance-free.
Clean the inner panel of the supply air wall box every month. Only use household water-
soluble cleaning agents and a soft cloth.
The application and dosage of cleaning agents must be carried out in accordance
with the manufacturer‘s instructions. We cannotgive any guarantee or warranty for the
manufacturer‘s data.
4 Troubleshooting
The device does not work:
•
Power supply/mains cable not connected
•
Fuse triggered - Restart (disconnect the wall box from the power supply, wait 5 min
and restore the power supply).
The device does not open/close:
•
Air hose kinked or blocked
•
Air hose has no free flow to ambient Air
•
Connection/pairing of the supply and exhaust Air wall box was not successful.
If a fault cannot be eliminated:
•
Get in contact with your dealer or customer service.
5 Disposal
Packaging materials and plastic sleeves must be kept away from children.
Packaging materials must be disposed of as specified by local regulations.
The device is subject to the European Directive 2012/19/EU and must not be disposed of
with household waste.
Please dispose of the device in accordance with the legal regulations via a specialist
disposal company or your municipal disposal facility.
