Switching on and off
1. Remove the blade guard from the cutter and lubricate the blades with oil
if they look dry.
2. Hold both the safety lock (5, 15) and the power switch (6, 14) pressed in.
The multi trimmer will start.
Note: Both the safety lock and power switch must be held in to keep the
motor in continuous operation.
3. The multi trimmer switches off when the power switch (6, 14) is released.
Care and maintenance
Note: Fit the blade guards (17, 18) onto the cutters before carrying out any
maintenance or making any adjustments to the multi trimmer.
• Do not expose the multi trimmer to rain.
• Wear protective gloves when handling or cleaning the cutter blades (1, 2).
• Regularly check that the power switch (6, 14) and safety lock (5, 15) are
undamaged and work correctly.
• Regularly check the condition of the blades and make sure that all the
screws are tight.
• Lubricate the cutters with an appropriate lubricant if they are not to be
used for a long time.
• Clean the exterior of the multi trimmer with a soft brush and cloth. Do not
use any water, solvents or polish.
• Store the multi trimmer in a dry, dust-free environment out of children’s
reach.
• Do not store the multi trimmer where it could be exposed to sub-zero
temperatures.
• Always fit the blade guards (17, 18) over the cutters when the multi
trimmer is not in use.
Cutting/trimming
• Make sure that there are no hidden obstacles (metal poles/wire fences) in
the area to be trimmed.
• The maximum cutting thickness of the hedge trimmer is 8 mm.
• Hold the trimmer firmly; maintain a steady stance and do not lean out too
far. Be extra careful when using a ladder.
• Move the trimmer along in a slow and steady motion.
• The double-sided cutter bar enables trimming in both directions or in a
pendulum action from side to side.
• For even trimming on the sides it is better to cut in the direction of growth,
from the bottom up. If you trim from the top down, the thinner twigs will
bend out and there is a risk of holes or thin patches appearing in your
hedge.
• In order to ensure a straight top edge, you can stretch a length of string
over the hedge as a guide.
