Installation
Introduction
This unit has been designed for maximum
performance. It easily powers your speakers at high
levels and allows you to fully enjoy audio and video
sources with great dynamics.
Note: In normal operation, the unit dissipates a
small quantity of power at all times, and it is
important that it is adequately ventilated. The device
must be protected from humidity – if the unit is
moved from a cold place to a warm room, leave the
unit for an hour or so to allow sufficient time for the
moisture to evaporate.
Cleaning
Before cleaning the unit, switch off power at the
mains switch and remove the mains plug from the wall
socket. Clean the cabinet and remote-control unit
using a moist cloth. Using solvents, white spirit or
thinners is not advised, as they could damage the
surface finish.
Installation
Position the unit on a stable, horizontal surface
where there is no risk of it being knocked or
subjected to vibration such as from loudspeakers.
Power Connections
The unit is supplied with a standard IEC mains cable
which plugs into the IEC socket at the back of the unit.
Standard XLR Balanced input/output lead
connections:
(for reference only, no XLR signal leads supplied)
Audio Output Connections
RCA output:
If you want to use two modules to
bi-amplify speakers, or would like to bi-amplify
using another power amp, you can use this output
to feed another amp module or amplifier with the
same signal.
Speaker outputs:
The speaker output terminals
for each channel are located below the XLR
inputs. The top terminal of each channel is the positive
(red) output and connects to the positive input of your
speaker. The bottom terminal of each channel is the
negative (black) output and connects to the negative
input of your speaker. The terminals accept naked wire,
spade connectors or banana plugs.
Input connections
UNBALANCED RCA input: One unbalanced RCA
input is available for each amplifier channel.
Connect this to the corresponding RCA output of
your preamplifier.
BALANCED XLR input:
One balanced XLR input is
available for each amplifier channel.
Connect this
to the corresponding XLR output of your
preamplifier. If you have XLR outputs on your
preamplifier, use these whenever possible.
Balanced connections offer many advantages
compared to unbalanced connections.
Interconnects
Note: Musical Fidelity currently do not make any
interconnecting cables other than those supplied
with the unit. If necessary, please refer to the
dealer who can advise on quality cables for any
particular setup..
