ENTERING TEST PROGRAM MODE
1. Four test modes are available via an Engineering Test Program Mode. To enter the
Test Program mode, press
, [9], [8], [7], [1] in order.
2. When the Engineering Program Mode has been accessed, the message `Program' will
be displayed.
3. To exit the Engineering Program Mode, and also cancel test modes and return to
normal operation, press
, [1], [0]. Switching off the transceiver also cancels program
mode and all tests.
TEST MODE 1
4. Press , [1], [1] to select Test Mode 1. This puts the transceiver into short alert mode,
with escalert and extended alert suspended. If the PTT switch is pressed, the
transmitter will key up. The call comparator does not operate in test mode. All other
options are unaffected. When called, the transceiver emits a single 1.0s alert tone and
the message `TEST' will be displayed for 1.25s. The time stamp (or M number) will also
be displayed.
