Checking the Connection by Pinging

Click the 

Start 

button, and then click 

Run

.

1. The 

Run

 dialog box displays. Type

 in the 

Open

 box. Then click 

OK

 dialog box, which is now set to receive a DOS prompt.

ping 192.168.0.1

, which is the IP address of the Gateway in this case. Then

4. A successful ping will show four replies:
