over the wheel. If a twist occurs, the tire will have to be removed and
reinstalled or a noticeable wobble in your engine will occur when operating
the locomotive. In addition, it is important to make sure that the tire is
fully seated inside the groove. Any portion of the tire extending out of the
groove can cause the engine to wobble. A razor blade can be used to trim
away any excess tire that doesn’t seat itself inside the groove properly.
Replacement tires are available directly from MTH Electric Trains.
HEADLIGHT REPLACEMENT
The locomotive’s headlight is controlled by an electronic constant voltage
circuit board in the engine. The headlight, loacated under the pilot deck, can
be easily removed should it need to be replaced. The bulb has a
quick/disconnect plug that attaches the bulb harness to a light circuit.
Removing the pilot deck is accomplished by removing the two mounting
screws, located underneath the pilot near the pilot truck “tongue.” Once the
screws are removed, the pilot deck can be lifted from the chassis, and the
bulb and harness can be disconnected and replaced. Replacement bulbs are
available directly from MTH Electric Trains.
