Charcoal canister
To remove/replace the charcoal canister snapped into the
tank:
1. Remove the fuel tank by following the steps described
in the Charcoal canister fuel tank section of this chap-
ter.
2.
Remove the vacuum line that runs from the roll over
valve to the charcoal canister. See Figure 4.26.
3.
Unsnap the charcoal canister from the fuel tank.
4.
Install the charcoal canister by following the previous
steps in reverse order.
To remove/replace the charcoal canister snapped into the
shroud:
1. Remove the recoil starter by following the procedures
described in Chapter 6: Starters.
2.
Remove the fuel cap and tether by unscrewing them
3.
Remove the fuel tank nut.
4.
Remove the screw that holds the fuel tank to the
shroud using a 10 mm wrench.
5.
Lift the shroud enough to gain access to the charcoal
canister. See Figure 4.27.
6.
Pull the canister out of the shroud.
7.
Mark the vacuum lines to identify which nipple they
are connected to. See Figure 4.28.
8.
Disconnect both vacuum lines.
9.
Install the canister by following the previous steps in
reverse order.
