9.8. Acceptance Check
Examine the exterior of the shipping container for signs of shipping damage,
especially at the box ends around each blade.
A hole, tear or crushed appearance at the end of the box (at the propeller tips)
may indicate the propeller was dropped during shipment, possibly damaging the blades.
After removing the propeller from the shipping container, examine the propeller components for
shipping damage.
9.9.
Uncrating:
Place the propeller on a firm support.
Remove the banding and any external wood bracing from the cardboard shipping container.
CAUTION:
Never place the propeller onto a blade tip!
Put the propeller on a padded support that supports the entire length of the propeller.
If applicable, remove the plastic dust cover cap from the propeller mounting flange.
9.10.
Lifting
To lift the propeller, pick up the propeller at the blade ferrule as close as possible towards the hub.
Do not pick up the propeller on any other spot, especially not on the blade tips as well as the spinner
front plate or back plate.
