Spark Plug —
Provides spark to the ignition system.
Set spark plug gap to 0.6 - 0.7 mm (0.028 - 0.031 inch).
Clean spark plug once a week.
10.
Choke Lever —
Used in the starting of a cold engine,
or in cold weather conditions. The choke enriches the
fuel mixture.
11.
Air Cleaner —
Prevents dirt and other debris from
entering the fuel system. Remove cover to gain access
to filter element.
12.
Oil Drain Plug
— Unplug to drain engine oil.
13.
Oil Drain.
— Allows the oil to be drained to a tray or
container with rubber grommet removed.
14.
Lifting Hooks
— Used to lift pump with the use of sling
belts for transporting.
15.
OIl Fill Cap
— Remove cap to add oil to engine.
16.
Starter Switch
— Starts or stops engine.
17.
Throttle Knob —
Used to adjust engine RPM speed
(lever advanced forward
SLOW
, lever back toward
operator
FAST
).

Fuel Valve Lever — OPEN
to let fuel flow,
CLOSE
to
stop the flow of fuel.
NOTICE
Operating the engine without an air cleaner, with a
damaged air filter, or a filter in need of replacement
will allow dirt to enter the engine, causing rapid engine
wear.
Figure 4 shows key components of the QPT3S Cart and
Engine.

Handle
— Used to move cart in different directions.
2.
Fuel Tank —
Holds unleaded gasoline. For additional
information refer to engine owner's manual.
3.
Fuel Filler Cap —
Remove this cap to add unleaded
gasoline to the fuel tank. Make sure cap is tightened
securely.
DO NOT
over fill.
4.
Starter Solenoid
— Starts the engine when starter
switch is turned on.
5.
Fuel Drain Hose
— Used to drain fuel from tank.
6.
Battery
— Used to start generator.
7.
Charcoal Canister
— Absorbs fuel vapor that would
otherwise vent out to the atmosphere, causing
pollution. Vapors trapped by the charcoal are released
back into the engine and then burned.
8.
Heat Exchanger —
Used to reduce noise and
emissions.
DANGER
Adding fuel to the tank should be done
only when the engine is stopped and has
had an opportunity to cool down. In the
event of a fuel spill,
DO NOT
attempt to
start the engine until the fuel residue has
been completely wiped up, and the area
surrounding the engine is dry.
WARNING
Engine components can generate
extreme heat. To prevent burns,
DO NOT
touch these areas while the
engine is running or immediately after
operating.
NEVER
operate the engine
with the heat exchanger removed.
